The producer

Nicola Finotto and Michele Vitale created MENAT in 2018 after returning to Michele’s family vineyards around San Nicola dell’Alto, an Arbëreshë village above Calabria’s Ionian coast. Nicola’s years importing Georgian wine shaped the project and its marani-style cellar.

Fruit & cellar

Source, hands & bottle.

The vineyards are biodynamically worked. In the cellar, buried Georgian qvevri and Spanish tinajas are used for spontaneous fermentations and aging, with no temperature control or exogenous additions, including sulfur. Methods vary by wine rather than following one fixed recipe.

Trade, tables & good bottles
