The producer

Bricco Ciarla is the Treiso project of childhood friends Massimo Marcarino and Matteo Franchi. The name joins the Piedmontese word for a hilltop with the surname of the family who once held the property. Today they farm about five hectares between Treiso and Neviglie.

Fruit & cellar

Source, hands & bottle.

Massimo directs the vineyards and Matteo the cellar. The estate describes its farming as conventional while minimizing chemical treatments and using organic fertilization. Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts in concrete and steel; the Barbarescos age in large French or Austrian oak.
