At Contrada Nave on Etna’s northern slope, Ginger Ringer and Romain Cole have turned a century-old, mixed-planted vineyard and surrounding orchard into Giardini ColeRinger. The couple moved from Paris with their children in 2021, trading careers in the arts and publishing for farming at roughly 1,000 meters.

Their three-hectare garden includes about one hectare of ungrafted old vines among olive, chestnut, almond, and fruit trees. Work is manual, from broad-fork cultivation and hand weeding to grape-by-grape destemming and basket pressing. Nothing is added or removed in the cellar.
